Recipe INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup red rice (boiled rice variety)
½ cup bhagar/ vrat ke chawal/ samo rice
½ cup short grain rice
½ cup urad dal
½ tsp methi seeds
Salt
Water
Oil for greasing
DIRECTIONS
Soak both varieties of rice and bhagar together in water with few methi seeds.
Soak urad in water with few methi seeds. Soak for minimum 4 hours.
Use this soaking water while grinding.
Grind urad into a smooth paste.
Place in large container.
Grind rice to a smooth coarse paste.
Add to urad paste. Mix well. Add salt.
Keep in a warm place overnight or for minimum 8 to 10 hrs.
Grease idli plates and pour batter in each plate.
Steam for 10 to 12 minutes or till done.
