INGREDIENTS

    1cup masoor dal 
    I onion finely chopped 
    1 tomatoes finely chopped 
    1 teaspoon Ginger minced 
    1 teaspoon garlic minced 
    1/4 teaspoon turmeric 
    Salt 
    1 tbsp ghee 
    1/2 teaspoon cumin 
    2 dry chilies 
    1 tablespoon ginger julienne 
    3 garlic cloves crushed 
    1 teaspoon Hing 
    Curry leaves 
    Coriander fresh 
    2 cup water

DIRECTIONS

In the cooker add masoor dal, chopped onion, chopped tomato, grated ginger and garlic, salt, turmeric powder, water and mix them together.
Cook them at least for 3 whistles.
For Tempering: – To the small pan add ghee, cumin seeds, chopped ginger, garlic pods, curry leaves, dry red chili, asafoetida and mix them together for 1 minute.
Masoor dal tadka is ready to serve with hot steamed rice.
